Project Manager NIES

Tribal Tech, LLC is in search for an experienced part-time Project Manager who will act as the primary interface to the federal client and any sub-prime contractors, managing all aspects of the contract, and maintaining overall accountability. The position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities of the project to ensure the deliverables are met within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s required with five years related experience or Master’s degree and two years related experience preferred
  • Project Management experience required
  • Knowledge and experience working with American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) population – children and adults, various education agencies and different types of schools dealing with tribal education
  • Must be familiar with the structure of the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Interior and experience managing federal projects
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills that include an attention to detail as well as a grasp of large conceptual frameworks
  • Willingness to travel within the United States occasionally
  • Previous work with disadvantaged communities required
  • PMP certification preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review contract to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various project tasks
  • Provide strategic direction and set priorities to deliver plans/budget and resolve day-to-day project issues
  • Responsible for overall program management, financial management, contractual management, team management and customer management
  • Outstanding relational, teamwork, and cultural competency demonstrated in interaction with colleagues, community members, federal representatives, contractors, and clients
  • Establish work plan and staffing for each task, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of the project personnel
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel to ensure progress is on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly program and business management reviews, and monitors program financial health
  • Write, compile, and submit all monthly reports and final reports for the client
  • Identify, train, evaluate, motivate, and develop program team members
  • Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other government agencies
  • Identify and recommend approaches to improve quality, cost, and process inefficiencies
  • Providing responsive forecasting and continual close coordination with subordinate functional managers, senior management and corporate support staff
  • Working knowledge of educational survey research, implications of sampling and participation, timeline and awareness of sensitive aspects of communication and familiarity with large data sets, such as, Common Core of Data (CCD)
  • Familiarity with National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) preferred but not required
  • Required knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and database management
