Adding More Light into your Day
Intentionally incorporating more bright light, usually natural sunlight, into your daily routine can significantly boost your mood, energy level, and overall well-being by regulating your circadian rhythm and promoting serotonin production.
Key ways to add light into your day:
Morning sunlight exposure: Make a conscious effort to get outside early in the morning to soak up the natural sunlight, even if it’s just for a short walk.
Open curtains and blinds: Throughout the day, keep curtains and blinds open in your home to maximize natural light exposure.
Light-color decor: Paint your walls with light colors to reflect more natural light.
Strategic lighting placement: Utilize lamps and fixtures to illuminate dark corners of your home.
Light therapy box: Consider using a light therapy box, especially during the winter months when natural sunlight is limited, to provide bright light exposure.
Full spectrum light bulbs: Replace regular light bulbs with full spectrum bulbs that mimic natural sunlight.
Outdoor activities: Schedule activities like walking, gardening, or reading outside during daylight hours.
Mindful moments: Take a few minutes throughout the day to consciously focus on the light around you, like looking out a window or sitting in a sunlit spot.
